Do you think wizards cut Nadu or Shuko in case ? I think that without Shuko the deck remain strong but not broken.

This deck seems like a nice choice with less storm in the format now, blood moon is really threatening. Jeskai probably still does pretty well into it if they have 2-3 celestial purges but other than that it looks nice

Ya boros is better than Mardu lol but ocelot pride is over preforming and has been better than ragavan for me…. That being said blood moon in main has its good matches but idk if I like 3 in main lol maybe 1 and 4 phlage lol

Hey Mengu! On your last game against UR Kiki I think you could have letal damage by copying the Ajani with reflection instead of the token. Since Ajani is legendary you sacrificed the new ajani to flip the original one, having four creatures in play (reflection, saga token and two cat tokens). Then, activating Ajani’s +0 ability would create a new cat and ping your opponent for 5 damage. Did I miss something that would invalidate that play?

Why do you prefer blood moon over magus? I feel like neither nadu nor tron have good creature removal but dont have enchanment hate. I was also thinking about such a list and was gravitating to magus

11:54 can we take another look at this hand? This hand has two Aether Hubs and two Guide of Souls. The way I see it, we can essentially cast our cards any way we want during the first two turns. T1 Hub Guide. T2 we can play Phalia or 2nd Guide and Discharge. Discharge has outs of generating more energy for future turns, Phalia has outs of blinking a guide or a future creature to keep generating energy with the guides. I don't think this hand is a mulligan

regarding ocelot and ragavan ive been playing boros energy since mh3 dropped and have tried several different lists and ragavan seems to be a more consistent threat. ocelot only really feels good when you start comboing off with multiple ocelots and ajani

I kinda hope they go the hogak route of banning an enabler for nadu (shuko) so we can still play with the card and the combo still exists in outrider en-kor. I think without the whole easy combo with the enabler searchable by urza's saga nadu might be better in a more mideange based shell, and that's where I'd like to see them. This is my hope, but it's probably best for it to be banned since shuko isn't a problem in itself without nadu and nadu constricts card design moving forward.

Urzas saga in a 3 colored deck always hurts, there is a reason most urzas saga lists only play one color or just splash for something. That being said, wren and six definitly helps fix the mana base, and also combos well with saga. Interested to see how this performs.

Maybe Simon Nielsen is nice in person, but when he's about to lose on camera he resorts to devious tactics and displays very manipulative behavior. Javier could've played tighter, but the fact that Simon tried to shuffle his deck and didnt even get a warning is extremely shameful on everyone's part. Everything around the ring protection situation happened very quickly and looked extremely suspicious from the outside, and i think people should be more objective when viewing Simon's actions and stop defending him with appeals to emotion.

Not sure when you record the podcast, but could you guys talk about the Goryo’s deck that went 10-0? Nobody talks about it because I think you have to win in limited or something to make top 8, but I’m not sure how it works exactly and would like some insight :)

Thanks for the breakdown. I wonder how you feel as a pro in the scene when you know a deck is over represented and over performing. Does it make it harder to stay motivated or focused knowing it will be a lot of mirrors, maybe a reason to take a counter-pick if one is viable, or you just try to ignore that and go for the best deck of the moment? I have to say as a casual and viewer I stopped watching once the two non Nadu decks were eliminated in the top 8 despite liking the players remaining.

I took a break from modern for the last 8 months or so, but you've got me back in, rebuilt my living end around ardent plea and 4-0 at locals this weekend. Nadu matchup is tough, lots of value from it, I don't think nadu needs the ban but the tools that make nadu so efficient do, slow it down a turn.

So many people chatting about Eldrazi and Ruby Storm and 0 in top 8. Maybe we will see them after Nadu is nerfed or banned.

D'accordsissimo sulla qualità delle liste e dei deck portati al pt... sono percentuali clamorose (presenza e winrate) ma in un contesto veramente acerbo... bannare ora (non discuto nel caso in cui lo si facesse) basandosi solo su questi dati non avrebbe senso (qui dibatto 😂).

I love that Mengu does everything but say "Y'all a bunch of bitches" when it comes to bannings in Magic. And to be honest I absolutely agree. People cannot go a few weeks trying to actually be creative in the space that Wizards has given to you to create solutions. Can Nadu be broken? Sure. Can it need to be banned? Sure. But that does not mean Nadu does not have to run bad cards in the deck to make it work. If you ban things immediately then there is no time for anything other than emotional reactions.

I dont think it is even a matter of the meta game adjusting for Nadu, there are some options for fighting it but the biggest problem is it is just a bad deck for play enjoyment and viewership, nobody wants to sit there and watch or play against a deck where 1 player is taking countless game actions and the other player is just sitting there for 5 minutes doing nothing it is just a bad play experience and you could just tell by viewership number were droppin heavily in and out when Nadu decks were in the match up people were dropping and coming back near end of round it s just boring.....

Have you ever thought of doing deep dives into certain decks, or maybe before a gameplay veedeo explain what the deck wants to achieve. Maybe not for all decks, but for the more complicated/combo ones? Would love that since sometimes i get lost

I don't get it like isnt a nadu deck easily outmatched against surgical extraction + thoughtseize for example? Or even better a card that straight gets him out of the library

I dont have the numbers but while Necro can beat Nadu doesnt it also lose on average against the Tron decks? I dont think its as broken as Nadu. LIke I dont think we've ever seen a deck as resilient that was that hard to sideboard against as Nadu.
